Dems React Slowly To Report of Republican Congressman Exposing His Penis To Minors And Swimming Naked In The Holy Sea Of Galilee

Late last night (8/19/12), Politico published this report:
The FBI probed a late-night swim in the Sea of Galilee that involved drinking, numerous GOP freshmen lawmakers, top leadership staff — and one nude member of Congress, according to more than a dozen sources, including eyewitnesses.
During a fact-finding congressional trip to the Holy Land last summer, Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-Kan.) took off his clothes and jumped into the sea, joining a number of members, their families and GOP staff during a night out in Israel, the sources told POLITICO. Other participants, including the daughter of another congressman, swam fully clothed, while some lawmakers partially disrobed. More than 20 people took part in the late-night dip in the sea, according to sources who were participants in the trip.
You read that right. Republican Congressman Kevin Yoder stripped naked in front of minors and went swimming in the Sea of Galilee -- the same Sea of Galilee where Jesus Christ walked on water. The Sea of Galilee is considered holy. In fact, one of the Republican Congressmen who participated in this disgraceful act of hooliganism was Ben Quayle -- the son of former Vice President Dan Quayle.  Ben Quayle's wife, Tiffany, issued a statement that reads, in part, "We did return to Arizona with some water from the Sea of Galilee to baptize Evie after she was born." (source)

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) all send me (and maybe you) daily solicitations for money. [Interestingly enough, Debbie Wasserman Schultz is Chair of the DNC; Rep. Steve Israel is Chairman of the DCCC. They are both Jewish.]  The DNC and DCCC say they are serious about winning back a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives, holding on to their majority in the Senate, and keeping Barack Obama in the White House. When former Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner got caught using Twitter to send a picture of his penis to someone, Republicans (and quite a few Democrats) ran him out of office. In politics, things move fast. Why hasn't the DNC and/or the DCCC issued a strong response to the Politico report? Why aren't they doing their best to make sure every voter in America knows that Republican Congressmen are running around exposing their penises in public? In front of minors? In front of their colleagues [In addition to Yoder and Quayle, Politico reports that the following people also went swimming: Rep. Steve Southerland and his daughter; Rep. Tom Reed and his wife; Rep. Jeff Denham; and Rep. Michael Grimm]. People want to know that these people think it's alright to swim naked in the holy Sea of Galilee and defile this body of water?

We all know that "conservatives" and Republicans are hypocrites who preach family values and lecture us about appropriate conduct, but they defend their own when they get caught engaging in inappropriate conduct.  For example, Glenn Beck wasn't alone in his criticism of Weiner, but he was one of the loudest and most persistent critics. He used his radio show and website, The Blaze, to keep negative attention focused on Weiner. If Beck were a fair man interested in consistency or morality (not just raw political power), he'd be calling for everyone involved in the scandal to resign just like Weiner did, right? Well, Beck isn't fair. He isn't interested in morality. And today he has shown his true colors by trying to downplay the significance of the Republicans' actions in this story published on The Blaze:
Citing several recent scandals, POLITICO suggests that this might become another black eye for a wildly unpopular congress. However, doesn’t it seem a bit much to put a late night dip in the Sea of Galilee in the same category as Reps. Anthony Weiner and Christopher Lee’s sexting scandals or David Wu resigning over an “unwanted” sexual encounter with a friend’s daughter?
See, in Glenn Beck's world, public intoxication, public nudity, exposing one's penis in front of minors, defiling holy waters, and overall hooliganism aren't really that bad if you are a Republican. (Before you crybabies start sending me nasty notes, I know Beck didn't write the article. It was written by Becket Adams. Don't be naive. Beck wouldn't allow that story to go in The Blaze if he didn't agree with it.)

Here you have a scandal involving Republicans that occurred in the holy land. Two of the highest ranking members of the Republican Congressional team -- Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy were in Israel on the trip, and except for a little tongue lashing, did nothing about this. What is the DNC and DCCC thinking by sitting on this?

"We all know that "conservatives" and Republicans are hypocrites who preach family values and lecture us about appropriate conduct..." >- we all know what now? You just disqualified the rest of your blog with this moronic statement.
