Smitherman Freudian Slip On Newsmakers 12
![]() |
I know that you, my faithful readers, know that a Freudian slip is an error in speech, memory, or physical action that is believed to be caused by the unconscious mind. (source) I only supply a definition of the term because I know that certain members of Christopher Smitherman's backup singing group, the Smart-Mouthed Little Punks aren't so smart.
Yesterday, "Local 12 Newsmakers" aired an interview with Sillyman. (Click here to watch it.) In the span of a few minutes, Sillyman mentioned concrete two times -- once apparently accidentally.
As we've been telling you the last week or so, Sillyman's brother, Albert Smitherman, owns Jostin Concrete Construction, Inc. Sillyman has been doing everything he can to get his brother contracts with the City of Cincinnati, and on city-funded projects.
Concrete was clearly on Sillyman's mind during the interview. At one point, he suggests that one way for the city to increase the level of small businesses receiving city contracts would be for the city to break down the bid packages "for the electrical work for the concrete work."
Then, at about 8:15 into the interview, he says, "...on a project like the Banks project, you know, we can't look at a $95 million concrete company, I mean, a $95 million bid...."
Freudian slip? You decide.
