Baby Spraggs Mom Speaks: 'I couldn't raise my baby'

Sharicka Watson

The Cincinnati Enquirer's Sharon Coolidge has been aggressively pursuing the story of Baby Thomas Spraggs and the custody/adoption fight. She has another story in today's paper. A link is provided below. As usual, I won't be commenting on the facts of this case until it is resolved. Lack of commenting shouldn't be interpreted as my agreeing with the facts as laid out in the story. In fact, it's safe to say that Mr. Spraggs' law firm -- Lawson & Associates -- very much disagrees with some of the statements in this story. But, as Kenneth has told me hundreds of times, we do our talking in court. Fair enough?

Despite that, is it just me because I'm close to the story, or does this story just tug at your heart? Anybody care to share an adoption story? We're you adopted? Have you given a child up for adoption? Yeah, this isn't a touchy-feely kinda blog, but I think my readers would be interested in your story. It might do you some good to share your story?

If you are unable to comment then don't comment. You seem to be slowly drifting towards the ironic situation of commenting while explaining why you can't comment. I do not claim to have any significant knowledge of the law or the ethics involved. I do know if you get to the point of making a statement similar to, "I'd like to tell you the password is 'open sesame', but I'm not allowed to.", you've crossed a line.

This is just an observation and not a judgement. Please don't feel its necessary to defend yourself since I know you can't comment on what you can't comment about anyway.

Time to light the candles getting out the Ouija board. It tells me Spraggs law firm Lawson & Associates should've convinced him to count his blessings, that the couple from Dayton were agents sent to rescue him from a life of misery. The Justice Center is full of fathers whose only crime is falling behind in their support payments.

Prior to Lawson & Associates representation Mr. Spragg was free of any responsibility, soon the court ordered paternity will bear down, an oppressive, worrisome encumbrance of responsibility and duty follows. Did Ms. Watson’s fast food job provide full medical coverage? Has the Hospital been paid for delivering the baby? How about the doctor? What about any prescription drugs?

Ouija says Mr. Spragg may soon be playing Chess with Tony Tubbs.

"Prior to Lawson & Associates representation Mr. Spragg was free of any responsibility, soon the court ordered paternity will bear down, an oppressive, worrisome encumbrance of responsibility and duty follows."

Mr. Spragg took partial responsibility when he impregnated this woman. Court ordered paternity kicks in when these guys fail to properly support their child so they have the necessities they require in order to have a somewhat stable period while growing up.

Tough beans that some think it's oppressive, a worrisome encumbrance. Of course, that thought never entered their minds the second they mounted & got their rocks off.

It's also a father's duty to actively engage in the upbringing of their children, which also includes financial responsibility.

I have zero sympathy for these sex hounds who stand before the Judge because they didn't make their paltry child support payments. The excuses are never ending & most of the stories are so pitiful that they are funny. Of course, the bulk of them are lying through their teeth.
