Rusty Dusty Picking On Poor

If you searched a thousand years, could you ever find anyone whiter than Hamilton County Auditor Dusty Rhodes? I think not. I always keep Dusty's whiteness in mind whenever I read a comment from him or a story that quotes him extensively.

One of the oldest tricks in the political book is to attack somebody weaker than you or more disliked than you -- the defenselesss, the poor, Latinos, Blacks -- when you want to move to a higher office or get reelected to the same office. Dusty's comments in today's Cincinnati Enquirer story "Courthouse facing dozens of homeless: Agencies wring hands over problems" makes me think Dusty is pondering a run for County Commissioner and has decided to use the homeless (disguised as support for courthouse security) as a campaign issue.

I've got no time to dissect the story line by line but I'm not bothered by the notion that homeless people choose to sleep on the plaza outside the courthouse. But what is this about urinating and defecating in public?!? That's just wrong!!! And I don't want to pay taxes to a County employee to clean that stuff up. (Yeah, they have to clean the area up anyway, but, damn!)

On one hand, being a man and Army veteran, I've taken my share of leaks in public. What guy hasn't been in the woods and done it? This is different. This is downtown Cincinnati. (And I've seen guys pissing on the Courthouse in the middle of the day too and wondered why this trifling behavior was being tolerated?) On the other hand, I remember reading an article in a magazine (maybe Streetvibes) about a homeless guy living in another city (perhaps Seattle) who had to take a dump but couldn't find a place to do it. He went to local businesses only to be turned away because he wasn't a paying customer. Some public places wouldn't let him inside because he was dirty and smelled bad. Finally, after trying everything, he crapped on himself. Can you imagine how humiliating that must be? And even if you don't do it on yourself but are forced to take a squat in public, how bad would you feel? I don't even like asking people to let me use the bathroom when I visit their homes. To use it in public....

Nate, you can crap in the woods behind my house anytime, be careful not to wipe yourself with the poison ivy though.

Nate,

If you don't want your tax $$ spent to clean up the piss and crap, sounds like you've got a little whiteness in you too!

I don’t understand why anyone would want to defecate around the courthouse. The Justice Center is open 24hrs, restrooms are located therein. Are these destitute homeless people making a statement? Is this the beginning of a movement? County Courthouse today, City Hall tomorrow, then on to Government Square, have the Homeless organized, is this the start of “ya’ll can put up with my shit for awhile” revolution

I wish the homeless would piss and poop on the american flag. As a matter of fact, they should have done that at the homeless gathering at the Whitehouse! Since america has continued to ''pour crap'' on the homeless vets!
