Ethnic Cleansing At Air America Radio

I agreed to write a column discussing the ethnic cleansing at liberal Air American Radio and how it reflects the lack of diversity in the Democratic Party. The column, titled "THE WHITENING OF AIR AMERICA", is being distributed by the good folks at the National Newspapers Publishers Association to several hundred Black newspapers and magazines around the country and should start appearing today.

In the article I discuss the recent announcement that Air America is kicking African American Chuck D off the air and replacing him with Jerry Springer. The firing of Chuck D. leaves Air America with only one African American, Marc Maron, talk show co-host and he is a stand up comic. (White folks, including liberal Democrats, don't mind having Negroes around as long as they are singing, dancing, making jokes, or playing sports. They don't want them in positions of leadership, including opinion shapers. Wait til I get started on Cincinnati Clear Channel.)

Liberal Democrats preach diversity and respect for Black people, but they rarely practice it. As partial proof, I use the column to question, without getting personal, why Springer doesn't have any African Americans on his "Team Springer" and why he didn't use his substantial clout to improve race relations in Cincinnati before or after the 2001 riot.

What's the point? I've always pushed people to (1) make their words match their actions, and (2) live up to their potential. The Democratic Party, Air America, and Jerry Springer all seem to have a hypocrisy problem regarding their committment to diversity, and they all can and must do better. Somebody needs to say it. I don't mind playing the role of bad guy.
